Platinians Camping Trip Sg. Chiling... Chilling at the waterfall

Last Monday on the 29th December 2008, a few of us went to Sungai Chiling near Kuala Kubu Baru (KKB). If you guys don't know where KKB is its located in Selangor somewhere between Rawang and Tg. Malim. Its roughly about an hours drive from KL and is easily accessible using the old trunk road from Rawang heading towards Tg. Malim. The trip was arranged by Rudy, as he's very familiar with the area.

We just stayed there for one night but it sure was loads of fun. That morning we gathered at our office in Alif Maju for breakfast around 9am. After breakfast we headed towards KKB around 10am. It took us about an hour to get there..

The trip was fun and challenging at the same time. There was a mix up on the camp site as the Rangers said the campsite was only open on Public Holiday and Weekends. But it turns out only on weekends.... their definition of Public Holidays are only on Saturdays and Sundays (duh..) but fortunately Rudy knew the rangers so we managed to stay overnite at the campsite. The site is quite clean with toilets, and surau in the area.

The trek up the waterfall is a long one..The trail is clear and follows the river, but you have to cross the river a few times. You must prepare yourself to get your feet wet.. there are some danger of leaches so better be prepared. Dont wear your heels and gucci shoes when u get here.... but your boots could help. :)

The suspension bridge over here is very nice.. if it just finished raining the water can be waist deep high so it was lucky for us it wasnt..

Anyway after about an hour of trekking through the forest, rivers, bushes and bugs.. we got to the waterfall.. The girls were like screaming because they were so excited when they saw the waterfall.. the water was ice cold as we were near the top of the hill but it was worth it..

After taking a dip at the waterfall.. we set up camp and prepared for the nite. We had some chicken, meat and fish with us for BBQ. Wan Mil and One entertained everyone with their mad guitar skills... All in all it was a great trip so join us next time. Rudy said hes planning to do one again maybe in February next year.. See ya then..
